Intro to Surveys

Highlight pre-loads your project with a Survey Blueprint -- expert-designed survey content based on your product category & aligned to your research objectives.

The Design Surveys step of your project setup will automatically include at least one set of trial surveys (product-specific surveys) and potentially a post-trial survey, depending on the Survey Blueprint.

The Survey Blueprint pre-loads required surveys with research-relevant content in the survey, and provides options for customizing:

  • Take advantage of more Highlight-designed question content by adding question modules  from the lower right Add Questions panel.
  • Add in Custom Questions from the upper right Add Questions panel.

Question Modules

Highlight's research experts have designed Question Modules, groups of related focus area questions geared to get high quality insights for product success. For questions added to a survey, a yellow tag indicates its Question Module.

Adding, Re-Ordering, & Deleting Questions

If you think you want to add in a module but don't know what's included, you can first view what's in each one by expanding the module in the Add Questions panel.

To add a module to your survey, just drag and drop it wherever you'd like it to go. When you add a module to your survey, it will immediately break out into the individual questions. These questions can be moved around wherever, they don't need to stay together as a module if you don't want them to, and you can delete questions individually without impacting any others that are part of the same module.

To re-order questions in your survey, you can drag and drop wherever you want them to go.

If you delete a question from your survey, you'll be able to add it back from the "Add Modules" menu. This menu includes both Recommended and Default content, in that order.

Draft | Ready

After you've made all the edits you want to a survey, set its status to Ready. Move it back to Draft to continue editing.
