Instantly build a comprehensive slide deck and accompanying spreadsheet recapping your research and tailored to your chosen settings.
Overview
Instant Reports produces detailed reports based on your survey data. You can customize the report by selecting specific surveys, products, and segments. Once created, you can view a list of all created reports, see who created them, when they were created, and the settings used. You can also download or delete reports.
Accessing Instant Reports
You can access Instant Reports once fielding is complete. Navigate to Insights > Reports.
Creating a Report
To produce a new Report, choose your settings then click Create Report. The following settings are customizable:
- Survey: Select the survey you want to generate a report for. This can include:
- Trial Surveys: Compare your products against each other.
- Other Surveys: Screener, Pre-Trial, Post-Trial, or Wrap Up surveys.
- Products: This option is only available for Trial Surveys. You can select which products or product groups to include in the report. The default is All products.
- Segments: You can segment your report by selecting any available segments.
- Confidence Level: Set the confidence level for statistical significance, from 80% to 99%. The default is 95%. This affects the Scorecard, where statistically significant values are highlighted.
- Alienation Analysis: If your survey includes an Alienation Analysis, you must select a Control and a Test product.
Managing Reports
On the main Reports page, you will see a list of all reports created for the project. For each report, you can see:
- Who created it
- When it was created
- The settings used for generation
You have the option to Delete or Download any report from this list.
Understanding the Report Download
When you download a report, you can choose from three download options:
- Download as ZIP: Receive a
.zip
folder containing both files (PowerPoint and Excel) - Download Spreadsheet: Get just the Excel (.xlsx) file containing the scorecard data
- Download Presentation: Get just the PowerPoint (.pptx) file with the comprehensive slide presentation
Note: Individual file downloads are particularly useful if your organization's security settings block zip file contents. You can now access your report files directly without needing to extract them from a zip folder.
PowerPoint Presentation Contents
The PowerPoint presentation is structured in the following order:
- Project Setup: Slides covering the background and research methodology.
- Key Findings: All data and analysis for the study, presented in this order:
- Scorecard: The scorecard data is the same as what you see in the Insights App.
- Quantitative Data: Scale questions are shown as stacked bar charts with aggregation groups (e.g., Top 3 Box, Middle 3 Box, Bottom 3 Box). Multiple-choice questions are represented as bar charts. Each chart includes a summary for a quick understanding of the findings.
- Qualitative Data: Open-ended questions are presented as text. There is one slide summarizing all products and individual slides for each product. These slides include AI-generated high-level summaries, the most prominent topics, and the most relevant responses within those topics. Learn more about how Highlight uses AI to generate these insights.
- Penalty Analysis: If applicable, this analysis is included at the end of Key Findings.
- Alienation Analysis: If applicable, this analysis is included at the end of Key Findings.
- Tip: You can review all topics and responses for any open-ended question by navigating to Explore in the Insights app.
Excel Spreadsheet Contents
The Excel file contains multiple worksheets that provide the raw data and crosstabs used to create the PowerPoint presentation:
- Metadata: The first worksheet contains all the settings and configuration details used to generate the report, including survey selection, product filters, segment settings, confidence level, and other report parameters.
- Question-Specific Worksheets: Each additional worksheet is named after a multiple choice or scale question from your survey. These worksheets include the complete cross-tabulation data for that specific question and a built-in chart created directly from the crosstab data.
This structure allows you to recreate any charts from the PowerPoint presentation with exact precision, access the underlying data used for all visualizations, and perform additional analysis or create custom charts using the same data.
